ROSEMARIE BRADLEY, PH.D., CEO AND FOUNDER

Rosemarie Bradley, Ph.D.

Dr. Bradley is a senior-level professional with over 20 years' experience in a wide variety of disciplines including environmental, marine and coastal resilience, disaster response and recovery, emergency management, strategic frameworks, stakeholder coalition building and community resilience planning. She is also interested in promoting women in STEM and promoting the environmental aspect of STEM.

Most recently, she was the National Resilience Planning and Analysis Branch Chief with FEMA’s Office of Resilience Strategy where she led the development of the National Resilience Guidance and served as a writing team member for the White House National Resilience Strategy. She was also a guest panelist for NATO’s Resilience Summit. She started this company to continue resilience building work.

Throughout her career her philosophies include: You can’t be effective if you don’t get out into communities and disaster-impacted areas and meet the people to understand their unique challenges and priorities; there is no one-size-fits-all solutions or textbook approach; it is not effective to simply deliver a voluminous document, plan, or dataset and say “go forth and do great things”. You must provide technical assistance translated into user friendly language; and to be effective in moving resilience forward you need a holistic approach that combines both natural and social science considerations.

Dr. Bradley’s professional titles also include working as a Marine Biologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Planner for a regional planning commission, Director of an Environmental Technology at a Technical Vocational High School, Hazardous Materials Response Team member for a state agency, and Environmental Specialist, Manager, Emergency Management Specialist, Collaborative Technical Assistance Lead, at Unified Federal Review Coordinator at FEMA disasters, regional offices, and headquarters.

Dr. Bradley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (concentration Marine Biology), Master of Science degree and Doctoral degree in Environmental Studies. She conducted her graduate research at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Coastal Research Center and Marine Policy Center respectively.
